Our flagship lightweight yarn (the equivalent weight to 4ply or fingering) is a blend of wool and mohair, bringing together the subtle and saturated hues of our West Highland landscape with the traditional expertise of Donegal's tweed yarn spinners. Neps of different shades are spun into the wool to produce a flecked and speckled look while the mohair lends the yarn strength and a pleasing halo. With eighteen shades creating a richly varied palette, this yarn makes wonderful lightweight sweaters and is ideal for colourwork. The blend of fibres, and the distinctive way in which they're spun also makes Milarrochy Tweed a yarn that's truly sustainable and built to last, creating beautiful garments that don't pill and will see many years of wear.
70% wool / 30% mohair. Single ply. 100m / 109 yards per 25g ball.
